I know I have posted this before, but thought it worth another mention.
When my Grandfather, John Campbell Lester Lynn was born on 3rd January 1900, his mother wrote her name on the birth certificate as Mary Moore Lynn, formally White. We have no idea where the Moore came from.

Yes, I have just found a Mary Lynn on the electoral roll, in 1938, 218 Old Brompton Road, Kensington. Along with loads of other names, it may be that they were all the domestics etc. This is all in the right area.

Also an older sister (not named at registration)

Told myself I wouldn't look on here today Chris!
The writing on both the birth and the marriage is difficult to read. Maybe someone can glean a bit more from the originals.

Think you need more help from that 1897 Marriage, references mentioned earlier, witnesses, Dock Street, is there any local Archives, Electoral Rolls, available?, sometimes google search helps)
(not got Irish research knowledge myself!)

Father James White- Labourer
Very difficult to read names of witnesses looks like;
Something (could be Sam) P Adai
Lizzie Something (could be Maedy)
really very hard to read
Deborah Report 6 Feb 2018 17:23
her father was James White and from her marriage certificate her father was living at 23 Dock Street or Place (cant read it) near or in Belfast . This was on 29th March 1897 when she got married.
(not wanting to go into depths of Guinness families!, but possibly below couple)
12 March 1903 - Clifton Society - Bristol, Bristol, England
The Dublin season has resulted in at least one interesting engagement—that of Mr. Walter Guinness and Lady Evelyn Erskine...
(as you say, not in their household 1911)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Guinness,_1st_Baron_Moyne
(looks like that Lady Evelyn Death 1939 Paris)
(what was occupation of James White?)

Thank you so very much for all that, I shall digest it all, I am beginning to think that the Mary Lynn in the above workhouse may have been her. My Mary Lynn was widowed in 1913, its my theory now that she was 'rescued' from the workhouse by the Guinness family and she went into service with them, and they became lifelong friends.
My Dad told me yesterday that he has a photo of his Grandmother and Lady Guinness and he is going to get it out for me, it may take a day or two, then I will know which Lady Guinness it is, as there are several, but Lady Evelyn Guinness was living at 11 Grosvenor Place, London through the 1920's and she had many domestics in her household, but couldnt see my Mary Lynn, at least not on the 1911 census, but it is also my theory that when Mary lost her 9 month old baby in 1909, also another child, details unknown, then her husband died in 1913, I wonder if she ended up in and out mental institutions/ workhouses due to proverty and extreme stress from her personal circumstances.
According to the 1901 census, for 7 Curran Street, Larne, Antrim, she was presbyterian.
