Welcome to the boards, Francis.
Can you give us more detail to go on, please?
Some dates? Names?
A quick search for the surname Phillips in County Wicklow in the 1911 census, for example, brings up at least ten different households.
If you really do mean "Wicklow Town", there are three different households in 1911, posted below. Which one is yours?:

Can you give us some idea of date, please?
EDIT:
OK, looks like this family in 1901 - this John is a victualler. The sons are also all victuallers, and unmarried:

Francis....
There is a Bernard Phillips listed on the 1901 census for East Wicklow..he is down as Capt..of the Schooner "Progress" docked in East Wicklow Harbor on the night of the Census. The above could be "your Bernard".
Francis William MacPhail (note spelling consistent throughout). was the son of Henry MacPhail Auctioneer of Main St.Wicklow he died 2 Jan 1884.
Francis Wm. married "Margaret" Jane Phillips 1879 (again consistent throughout for childrens Births and Francis' Probate 1918). John Phillips on MC was listed as Butcher. Margaret was 18.

Hi, I have a copy of John Phillips will who was a Victualler and father to the sons and one daughter (there was another daughter who passed away quite young I believe). The will was written that Margaret Jane would end up with most of JP's property on the passing of the brothers (strange will)
Francis married and he had two children John Phillips known as "Jack" (my grandfather and his sibling Bridget. Francis & his wife passed away when Jack & Bridie were very little and they were left orphans, partly brought up by family. They were also cheated out of a will on their mother side who was from near Newcastle Wicklow.
I believe that McPail was caught in some sort of embezzlement and left penniless.
I have also been informed we had some sort of relationship with the Fitzwilliam/Wentworth family

Hi I investigated the confusion of our RC family being buried in a C of I cemetery. My initial assumptions was that with our name being more British than Irish that were of English stock and possibly originally C of E. However I could not find any Anglo history or connection other than it was mentioned by distant relations that we may have been brought over by Wentworth/Fitzwilliam from Yorkshire.
Historically I believe that the C of I cemetery was mixed as it was there before the C of I church and as so was not denomination based.
