Frances died the first quarter of 1939, so would not appear on the 1939 register taken in September |

Spot on, thanks AQ! Having looked at Frances's death it was before the register, so I think 2 of the closed records would be 2 more evacuees. |

Thanks Dea- I deleted the extra person on the transcription after looking at the original. The extra person was actually at the next property |

Strange, that the transcription originally showed 1 evacuee? I know they only had 3 children, and as AQ pointed out one of them died before the register was compiled |

Many thanks all. That was the death I was considering Andy - so the dob confirms it's him. Strange though, he never had a middle name which is why I doubted it was the right one. |

Thanks Margaret, it certainly looks like him - although neither his birth or marriage have a second name - the extra name first appears on the 1939 register where he is recorded as John J. |
