Rambling Report 5 Dec 2017 19:13

It's not my family but I have been curious for some time about 3 'sisters', Olive, Annie and Amy Shelmerdine, friends of my mum when I was little.

I had looked before but before the 1939 reg was available but the info I had then was wrong ( this tread so please ignore it if you find it lol https://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1242198).

I've found them definitely now on the 1939, 1911 and 1901 but could do with some help on untangling the threads lol my brain seems to be mush tonight.

also on there is Henry Shelmerdine, Bessie's husband but left off the transcription.

Thankyou Patchem and Safc.

I am now curious as to whether the 'sister' Olive was actually the daughter of Annie or Amy, as there is such a big age gap it seems likely and her reg on GRO index gives King as surname no mmn.

Curiosity killed the cat....

Sorry yes I should have said that Annie, Amy and Olive died in the Isle of Man, they moved there just after we did, having all lived in the same Welsh village when I was about 6. They were great fun, one cooked, one cleaned and one painted portraits, and all three of them loved their cats and a blue eyed goose called Angus :-) Their cottage always smelled of baking, beeswax, linseed oil and oil paints :-)

Update for those who helped, have just received the birth cert pdf for Olive and it is as guessed the older 'sister' who was her mother. ( no father named). The informant was Bessie, Olive's grandmother as per the census.

Thanks all :-) Curiosity satisfied!
