John was born in Croydon . John and May's birth dates come from the 1939 Census

My problem is that a) I cannot find May Wigley's birth or in any Census.
b) cannot find John in 1901 nor 1911
c) cannot find their marriage

What am I missing? Can anyone help please?

I saw that marriage but I don't think its the one. This is John Greenslade married to Mary Ann Weekley I believe as there is a Census that supports this

I think this might be the birth for Mary in above marriage. Correct quarter from given info.

All very strange. All the children after 1911 had mother's maiden name as Wigley with no changes

Before 1911 variations of Wheatley, Wheekly, Weekley, Weetly. I can understand those variations but they are all totally different to Wigley

I wonder if there were two mothers? Also looks like the "May" in 1939 should have been Mary.

Goodness knows where Mary was born and which of the variations is correct
