Please can you see if you can find his military records for me.
At the time of marriage (09/091918) he was an AB in the Navy ? reserves. He was living at 1 Stanhope Place. His father William was a plasterer. He was aged 23
I have also found that George F Rushworth service number was KW/173. He was awarded the Star and V. B.
I have also seen that he served in the Kings own Yorkshire light infantry but I am not sure about this. Hopefully his service records will be able to tell me what he did.
Thanks for your help.

According to the 1939 register. george Rushworth was living with Agnes A. Rushworth It gives his dob 25/02/1896 and her 07/05/?. It said they are both married and living at 14 Raby St Leeds.
I know he married annie mortimer in 1918 but I don't know who this Agnes is. It is possible Annie died in 1931 but I can't find a marriage to Agnes.
Thanks again for your help

Looking at previous page on 1939, would say that says Rae Street...
(and 1918 Marriage image (Ancestry) Annie Spinster age 28. 3 Coldcall Street. Left blank for Father)
Chris :)
24 August 1931 - Sheffield Daily Telegraph - Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Barnsley Bus in Smash. A woman passenger and a child were precipitated head first through the off-side rear window on to the road. The woman was Agnes Rushworth (39), of 14, Rae Street, Sheepscar, Leeds, and the child was her niece, aged about two.
(26 seater motor bus belonging to Yorkshire Traction Co. while on a journey from Barnsley to London was concerned in a serious accident at the junction of Huntingdon Street and Woodborough Road, Nottingham. Victims were taken to Nottingham General Hospital, was found that the child had a miraculous escape, receiving no injuries whatsoever. Mrs. Rushworth, however, sustained concussion and serious lacerations.)

Thanks Mary and Chris for helping me. Mary that was the Annie rushworth I found in 1931, I did not realise she was a spinster so that counts her out.
Chris. That article about agnes looks interesting. Shame she got hurt. I will have to look into that a bit more.

Agnes Annie may be the same person as Annie.
Maybe she adopted the name Agnes later, after marriage. George hasn't included his middle name when marrying:
What else do you know about Agnes / Annie?
If she (or either of them) was born in Leeds, there are these Annies:
Births Dec 1893 (>99%) Mortimer Annie Leeds 9b 423
Births Dec 1894 (>99%) Mortimer Annie Leeds 9b 539
Births Mar 1896 (>99%) Mortimer Annie Lilian Leeds 9b 510
This is the only Agnes Annie in the right time-frame, in Leeds:
Births Sep 1893 (>99%) Rainey Agnes Annie Leeds 9b 507
But she died in infancy:
Deaths Sep 1893 (>99%) Rainey Agnes Annie 0 Leeds 9b 372
