I was hoping his military records would have named the child from his first marriage but no luck. In his physical description he has a tattoo of clasped hands and the name Sarah on his arm. There is a copy of his letter requesting permission to marry Lizzie. Prior to his marriage his next of kin is his sister, Mrs. McNally.

His child that died was William Thomas Downie, died aged 13 days on 7 March 1908, disability from birth. Father's address Spruce Street, Belfast.

No. The mc Bride is wrong.

His first wife was Sarah Graham (see above census). Whether he had Sarah's name tattooed on his arm before or after her death we'll never know.

Elizabeth had a twin brother named Robert and two sisters Isabel and phylis.all born in Ireland but died here in Dartford kent.
