Hi, I am seaching for the birth record of Frances Jane Donne b.about 1830 Ireland and the name of her mother. Her father was William Donne, a silk weaver in Dublin and she came to Australia from Dublin on the Maitland via Plymouth in 1850. I have several William Donne's. 1) Marks Alley, St Nicholas,Dublin. 2) Hanover St., Dublin. 3) silk weaver, 24 Cole Alley, Dublin. William Donne of 9 Hanover St m. Jane Bordbridge 10/11/1817 but can't find anyone with a child Frances. I would really appreciate any help offered. |

Hi all,Thank you for the information. I have the immigration records, and the marriage/death/probate of William Donne Cole Alley but just wasn't sure if I had the right William as there are several as weavers with a wife Jane around the same area. Have been looking around England also as "Donne" is prolific there and maybe Frances stayed with/worked for relatives prior to leaving as listed as housemaid on imm. record. A lot of Irish parish records list the birth date on the baptism records. I just can't find Frances's. She was Episcopalian/Anglican/COI. Have had the Anglican Church Archives do a search for me but they had every other Donne/Dunne/Dunn I was checking out except Frances so am stuck. |
