(would give his Mother Maiden Name (which is on above, posted) an Address, and occ. of Father, as well as his Birthdate, useful to know, but wouldn't help with things Mary/Delve family) |

Thinking about that Chris. The marriage cert would confirm his age and birthplace and parent's names. But I am not sure that it would tell me anything new. |

Yes thanks Chris, that is our William Henry in 1866, it is after the April 1866 marriage (I don’t have the cert but I believe the details of an online tree). He crossed between NZ and Sydney several times; children born 1867 NZ, 1869 Sydney, 1871 and thereafter NZ. Plenty of evidence of his places of residence in NZ. It is his origins in England that I am searching for. |

I think that tree is probably mistaken as there is a Mary Delve baptised in 1818 with father John who is a Blacksmith and he can be found on census married to Anne. |

A tree on ancestry has that marriage certificate attached to the record of Mary Delve born 1818 |

This John Delve is a Carpenter but in Devon? |

AnneRachel | Report | 11 Oct 2017 08:11 |
No, unfortunately not. Just the marriage details which say both William and Mary full age, and neither previously married. |

Do you have any idea of ages for his parents or details of when they died please? |

It's a facility on the gro site to 1911 when mmn is shown on the index |

Thanks Shirley. I had not realized that mmn was available here. Yes it is likely a transcription error. |

This is the GRO record of the 1844 birth , mmn could be a transcription error |
