I'd say it was the Charles in Thrapston Workhouse in 1841 that married Miss Marshall.

In 1851 he's still with Reuben- both state born Bridge stock, Lancashire! Think this is Brigstock, Northants, as on the later census for Charles.

Well Albert Hare son of Charles and Elizabeth Marshall seemed to be the first query...(Albert on another 'Thread)

So, as we can now see, he couldn't have been the one that died...

So, was he the one 1841 in Thrapston Workhouse?...if so, as said earlier, would see what is said for Workhouse Admissions at Northants. Archives...

Leaving George 1839 as the only one to survive.

George 1840 -1913 died in Tynemouth Northumberland, he was married to Lydia born Edinburgh Scotland 1840-1911 Tynemouth.

George on 1911 was a Army Pensioner.
On 1911 census says married 45 years no children born alive,but on 1881 census in London they have son George born @ 1873 in India.

Don't think you are confused. As far as I can make out he/she assumed that they had the right Charles. It is a very common name especially in Lincolnshire. I am pretty sure that he was the one who died in 1842. Quite usual in those days. Maybe we should wait for more contact. Eileen

Hmm- I thought Sidami was looking for details of the Charles that married Elizabeth Marshall in 1867.

If he is looking for details of that Charles, then he wasn't the son of Esther Masters and Charles Hare, as it looks as though that Charles died in 1842.

Or have I got confused coming into the thread late?

Ah!, thankyou for checking AQ, wasn't sure if Eileen could see image...(should have looked meself' really was spending too much time looking in newspapers for anything!, and then coming to conclusion that 17 was months, from GRO Index, after not seeing another Death, lol)

So Leicester Street ties in with Esther and Richard Ager, noted (newspapers) he lost a daughter (below) there also (1868) from his Marriage with Bridget Sewell.

Eileen I wonder if that is the Charles that is in the workhouse with his brother Rueben? I have the death certificate for Charles Hare died 1904 his informant was his daughter Maud..

Do you actually have the death cert, or are you just going by the basic online info?
If you have the cert, does it say anything about his wife? Who was the informant?

I have had a look at the N'hamton deaths. There is a CharlesAyres buried at St Sepulchre in August 1842 aged 2,but there is no death reg for him.But there is one for the same quarter reg Peterborough (at the time the county town) foe Charles Hare. I have a feeling that these are the same boy.Accents account for a lot,as the clergy were often unfamiliar with the local lingo. Eileen

Root gatherer this is also what I have from previous research and I am not sure which to go for it does make you dizzy? See that Charles was bab 1839 and that would be true, and the Other one I have of Charles I have his death certificate and that would of been a true age 63, making him born 1841. And not 1839 so I really don't know which one to follow?
