Chris this is why I am finding this all very confusing, I tried to research this family a few years ago, just come back to it and still none the wiser. I know Charles is buried in Horncastle he died 1904 age 63 so that makes his birth 1841 so I sent for the birth certificate and it came back as Charles Hare and Esther nee Masters the parents, then Charles got married and he gave his father as Titas? I have the marriage certificate for that as well.So that confused me. I know from the 1851 census that there was a Charles in Horncastle with Reuben, so I was taking it that they were brothers I did find on the 1841 census these 2 were in the workhouse in Thrapston ... I also found Esther was with Charles on the 1841 so the other one I found for 1841 with Charles and Reuben was maybe not the right family.I also have the marriage certificate for Rueben giving his father in 1860 as Charles deceased? So I am still none the wiser , are Charles and Rueben brothers? Family history does stop you sleeping.

Eileen are you able to send me the certificate or put the link up for me to look at please?

Eileen

Eileen Report 2 Oct 2017 20:49

Sadly not, both of full age. But Ester was baptised 6/10/1816 daughter of Edward and Mary.At Creaton.
George registered Jan 1839 15/313,and young Charles JFM 1841 15/328,both in Northampton. I have not found a baptism for either.

I posted 1841 on page 1, although Ancestry's transcription doesn't include the Gees, who are on the image.

Charles is her son, aged 2 months, not her husband.

Eileen I didn't get a document?Chris it gets worse? Looking back at what I have the reason I am confused as on the marriage for Charles it says father Titus and on one of the marriages for Rueben it says Titus but then on another marriage fot Rueben looking back on another thread he gave father as Charles? But then looking back as to when these 2 boys were born both been together on 51 census, their mother if she is Esther living as housekeeper in Northamptonshire , they were not very old maybe didn't even know their father looks like he proberly left them after they were born, in your opinions what woukd you go with as the parents? You have all been very helpful on this line of mine that has been bugging me for years?

Chris Ho :) Report 3 Oct 2017 08:40

So Father as Titus on 1867 Charles Marriage?...

(would see Workhouse Admissions for Thrapston, to find more on those 3 there 1841 to start with, and does look to say 'Illegitimate' for boys on image)

Chris :)

(where is Titus, what does it give for him on Marriage Certs.?)

(and past 'Threads' from you looking also coming up on google)

Root gatherer this is also what I have from previous research and I am not sure which to go for it does make you dizzy? See that Charles was bab 1839 and that would be true, and the Other one I have of Charles I have his death certificate and that would of been a true age 63, making him born 1841. And not 1839 so I really don't know which one to follow?
