don't think a death certificate shows parents names but a marriage cert shows fathers name do you know when in Scotland she came from |

The Agnes White who died 1871 in Wellington, Ontario seems to be the wife of John White, 60, on the 1871 census in Wellington. |

All Scottish marriage and death certificates name BOTH parents including the mother's maiden surname. In the case of death certificates, it's only if the informant knows the details. Death certificates also name all known spouses dead or alive and their occupations. Female deaths are indexed under married and maiden surnames and any other known surname. |

Post 1855, when civil registration began in Scotland, there are 3 Agnes Pyle deaths in Scotland. Using the free search facility none of them appear to have been known by the surname Richardson. |
