Would someone be able to look up a death certificate for me from the following information for a John Lynch (originally called Jeremiah when in Ireland).

I think he may be my great great grandfather

Hi Andrew thanks for the information. I do not thinjk this is my John Lynch as he was a labourer and on a death record I found he was registered at thre Poor Law Union in Stepney as shown -

Thanks Andy and Abby for the copy of the 1881 census with wife Catherine. His first wife Jane Lynch (nee Callagahan or Callyan) died I believe in 1873 so he may have married again by 1881, but the children are wrong.

Yes that is the family. They must have come to Limehouse around 1842 when son John was born as elder sister Mary was born in Ireland. My great grandmother is Hannah who was born in 1844.

I have been trying to search her family in Ireland but not knowing where they came from, it has proved impossible. Such is life !!

I don't think John (or Jeremiah) did marry again and I believe he died in 1888. I will send for his Death Certificate and see what that reveals.
