Find Ancestors

Can anyone help me trace the parents of George Ingram born 1765 in Southampton christened at All Saints. He married a Sarah Boliss in 1784 in the same church and they had numerous children.
I have searched all the usual on line sources and have contacted Southampton achieves all to no avail. To find his parents would lead me back a few more hundred years as I have numerous Ingrams from Southampton but just need the break.
Thanks to anyone who can help or suggest anything out of the ordinary.

I too believe that Southampton is a red herring
My George lived a long a fruitful life dying in 1829 and fathering approx 7 children.
I am not sure even if Sarah Boliss is the right name as I can't find any Boliss's around that time. I thought I was on to something with a Sarah Phoyn and a William Ingram being the parents and George being born earlier in 1754. Still stuck but another name has recently been flagged up and that is John Ingram and a Mary Dathan married in 1746. John being christened in 1727 in Damerham Hamphsire. I will continue to plug along.
