I can't make it out nor can I make it fit - but the St James' that comes up in Bristol if you google is - St James Catholic Priory Church. It's listed Grade 1 and in Horsefair, Whitson Street

It is definately St James Have you got her on any other census?

It could start with a B...l..

Its not Ban something?

On other census she says she was born Cork Ireland.

Sounds like she doesn't know where she was born, maybe father was made up, or if a marriner they may have moved around a lot? Have you found her on 1911?

I wonder about this from familysearch - on the image lists family at the top, but on the previous page the bottom entry is for Richard Searle:

Could have saved myself the bother if I'd re-read the other thread properly - I see now you already had found Jane in 1911!

Thank you to everyone who has replied. Janes birth and family are a complete mystery, she only appears in 1875 to marry in Swansea, as a widow...but no previous marriage. Might have been to cover birth of a child in 1873, can't find a birth record for him either. Her birth from census Cork Swansea Bristol. and yes have been looking for years.
