The following may clarify a couple of things for you although to be honest I have been crossed eyed trying to follow through your threads....These are relative to the Frizzel (Variations)..

If you go back to Page 4 of your thread (21-27August 2015) and the postings by GlasgowLass /ArgyllGran and yourself .....

The Marriage of Hugh Frizzell and Ann Wilson took place 3 August 1858 in Rasharkin Church of Ireland in the Parish of Rasharkin and Civil District of Ballymoney.

The place where the couple lived was KILRAGHTS
Hugh was the son of James Frizzell of Ballaghmore.

19 July 1859 a Margaret "Frizzle" married a William Anderson in the Ballymoney Register's Office...she was sister to Hugh.

Moving forward ...

James Frizzell (Greenock) died on the 1st Nov.1891 aged 32 at 88 Drumfrochar Rd.Greenock

Hessie died at Smithson the home of her brother George Brown Feb 1896 *******

Eringobragh1916, brilliant information thanks a lot! I've just added the little extra insights you mention to my tree.

Brilliant information guys, I've just now messaged the Quariers organisation so fingers crossed they have a record for him.

I assume his mother passed away about the same time as his father but looking through the People of Scotland register I found no record of her.

By "quarry boy", do you mean that he was with Quarrier's Homes?

ArgyllGran Report 10 Sep 2017 16:06

I haven't re-read all the old thread yet - but on page 3 it seems we decided Hugh had married in Greenock in 1904 - to Christina Sutherland.

Is that a different Hugh from the one who went to Canada?

EDIT:
On page 4 of the old thread, Glasgowlass suggests they are the same person, and that Hugh (who she says is in Toronto in 1901) must have returned before 1904, but no record found.

For reference, here's Laird's previous very long thread about this family:

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/ancestors/thread/1354196?page=0

It's probably easier to add you new query to the old thread, Laird, to keep everything together.

For helpers' reference -
the 1891 census with Hugh and his parents was posted by Glasgowlass on page three of that thread.

Hiya, crumbs with all these variants its been fun trying to track down the Frizzell tree.

So grandad George Alexander Lever Frizzell born Greenock, 1920 died 1966 turned into a very interesting success story resulting in the MoD sending me my grandad's ww2 service medals.

His dad was another success story, Hugh Frizzel born 1884 born Greenock died 1944. His service records for his service in ww1 still existed! Thanks to a cousin i met on this site I actually got several photos of him, one of his marriage in 1904 and several others of his in his kilt from his time in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders.

Hugh's dad James Frizzel transpires to be Irish, so records from the Scottish Peoples Record are a bit more sketchy to find. I discovered him on the 1891 census records via his wife Hessie Frizzel (Brown) and also his death record also 1891. There's also a record for his marriage 1884 Greenock.

Its been suggested that my great grandfather Hugh Frizzell was therefore orphaned and sent to Canada as a quarry boy? Where would i locate those records?
