You should be able to download the original Scottish records from https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk Which is a pay to view site.
There are 2 entries for the marriage, 7 Oct 1843 Inverurie & 11 Oct 1843 Old Machar. One of them might be the equivalent of banns.
The quoted death cert is there
Wilson ALEXANDER JOHN 74 1886 644/12 361 Gorbals

Welcome to genesreunited, Marj.
Could you confirm that you wanted any birth information for him in Halifax, Nova Scotia?
Do you know how or when he arrived in Scotland?

He doesn't seem to be on the 1841 census (unless he slipped through the net, or the transcription is wrong), so presumably he arrived in Scotland 1841 - 1843.

Had a look at the marriage document from Old Machar Parish
Alexander John Wilson Rural Constabulary Force Inverury and Jane Taylor Canal Terrace Woodside in this Parish, signified their purpose of marriage, by Mr wiliam Rust, Elder and being thrice proclaimed they were married on 11th October 1843 by the Revd Alexander Spence, Minister of Free Church of St Clements
*Inverury - previous spelling for Inverurie - to which it was changed when post was by mistake going to Inverary in Argyll

On the other hand -
There are a couple of other Alexander Wilsons who fit the bill :
Alexander Willson in the 1881 Census of Canada Name: Alexander Willson Gender: Male Marital Status: Married Age: 69 Birth Year: 1812 Birthplace: Nova Scotia Religion: Wesleyan Methodist Nationality: Scotch (Scotish) Occupation: Farmer Province: Nova Scotia District Number: 22 District: Cumberland Sub-District Number: L Subdistrict: Parrsboro Household Members: Name Age Alexander Willson 69 Eunice Willson 72 Sofiar King 29 Duglas King 6
Also -
Alexander Wilson in the 1881 Census of Canada Name: Alexander Wilson Gender: Male Marital Status: Widowed Age: 68 Birth Year: 1813 Birthplace: Nova Scotia Religion: Presbyterian Nationality: Ld Scotch (Scotish) Occupation: Mason Province: Nova Scotia District Number: 20 District: Pictou Sub-District Number: R Subdistrict: Little Harbour Household Members: Name Age Alexander Wilson 68 Alexr... Wilson 31 Catherine Wilson 29 William Wilson 25 Christy B. Wilson 21 Mary C. Wilson 17 David A Wilson 5
I wonder where Marj found the names of her Alexander's parents? The tree on Ancestry, on which we've been basing the research so far, doesn't give any proof of parents' names. It also lists, as well as Alexander, born c 1813 in Nova Scotia, a sister Helen, born c 1813 in Deskford, Banffshire, Scotland.
However, per SP, this will be that Helen - different parents:
WILSON HELEN JAMES WILSON/MARGT. ROBSON 0 08/08/1812 151/ 10 428 Deskford
So I wouldn't trust the tree too much.
There is a son (James - below) for parents called James Wilson and Margaret Harper, but he's not mentioned on the tree. Of course, they may be a different couple - or Alexander's parents may not be James and Margaret at all:
WILSON JAMES JAMES WILSON/MARGARET HARPER 0 31/12/1810 168/A 110 7 Aberdeen

SP shows no marriage of a James Wilson to a Margaret Robson. There's only one to a Jean or Janet Robson in Fraserburgh area in 1792.
And no marriage to a Margaret Harper.
Only one to a Jean Harper in Kilmaurs in 1805, and one to another Jean Harper (unless there's a mistake in the transcription of the date) in 1806 in Kilmarnock
EDIT: Of course, that doesn't mean there was no such marriage - just that there's no record of it.
EDIT again:
There's a James Wilson / Margaret Harper in 1735 in Ayrshire - but clearly not the same couple!

FS has this birth. Has someone got this child mixed up with another (much later) Alexander born / baptised in Nova Scotia in 1813??
Scotland Births and Baptisms Name Alexr. Wilson Gender Male Christening Date 16 Sep 1750 Christening Place CAIRNIE BY HUNTLY,ABERDEEN,SCOTLAND Birth Date 16 Sep 1750 Father's Name James Wilson Mother's Name Margaret Harper
Just possibly this couple, with wife's name different (or mistranscribed) ??

Marj did put a question mark against Margaret's name.

Thank you all so much. The info I have from family is Alexander(1813) was the district inspector of railways as in 1881 census. He married Jane Taylor Walker in 1843,1st Born Alexander James B1845 + my Great grandfather was James Joss -3rd born. What I know for sure is that Alexander Snr was born in Halifax NS about 1813 but am dubious re parents are Margaret Harper and James Wilson(don't know who found this when doing their family tree)but I have hit a brick wall unless I can find Halifax birth records and they elusive.Family are Catholic.I don't know when or why they went to Canada, where they lived,or when returned but all originated in and around Aberdeen. My Grandma Marjory Jane birth extract shows 1883 district of Gorbals, county of Lanark.Just need to ascertain Alexander's parents.Military crossed my mind.History has it we are somehow connected to Cree First Nation People.Trying to ascertain this before I kick the Bucket.Marj

The 1843 marriage wasn't a Roman Catholic marriage.
It's listed as a Church of Scotland marriage on SP, and the details posted earlier by Greyghost say it was a Free Church marriage - both Presbyterian.
There is no RC marriage on SP's church register records, between an Alexander Wilson and anyone named either Taylor or Walker.
