Thank you , yes that's what I was thinking it was a Register Office marriage. It is the Wallis side of the family I'm doing and I know John's sister Martha Jane was in Qourn Leicestershire in 1911 and that's where their parents Thomas Wallis and Mary Jane Ball married.

Although from 1898, non-conformists could apply to become authorized to keep official marr rego's, even by 1900q4 a sizable fraction of those who wished had not yet been authorized (RCs chose not to apply until 1980-ish - but often a fair bit earlier in Lancs). So one might find an unofficial non-conformist marr rego entry for this marr, but my guess is that it's a rego office marr and there's no other record.

The Ancestry transcription is a mess. They have mixed up the Connors at 3 George Street, with Thomas Corlett and the three Steeles at 4 George Street.
They've also included a family of Baileys at 5 George Street, calling them all Connor in the transcription, but I've missed them out here.

Could kind person please look at the following record on ancestry or find my past please to see if John is down as married, I got this from familysearch and he is with his 3 sisters but doesn't say if married and no wife with him, I found a possible marriage in 1900 to a Catherine Steele but not sure if its him.
