Many thanks for all the help. Have just found her again 4th December, 1837, not guilty of larceny AGAIN. Looks as though she was a determined criminal. Sadly, she was pregnant while in prison as her daughter Emma Jane is recorded as being born on 25th June and baptised on 12th August. Emma Jane stayed with her father and both step-mothers until her marriage. Her half brother named his daughter Emma Jane - probably never knowing that she was not his full sister! After his second wife died, William married for a third time. |

My gt.gt. grandfather's first wife. Have the record of her baptism in Holborn, 1815, her marriage in Lambeth, 1833, to William Miller and her aquittal of larceny in 1835, the birth of their child Emma Jane, St. Lukes, Middlesex, 1838, then nothing. By July, 1839, William had registered another daughter, Elizabeth, with Emma Binnie. William and Emma went on to have 4 more children before marrying in 1847. The marriage certificate on Ancestry shows William as a widower. |
