William Howarth married Ann Stott at St Chad, Rochdale in 1840. They had it would appear 2 children some years after they married, Alice Ann in 1850 and William James in 1857. I am seeking additional information about the children which I have been unable to find. Thanks
Edit - I am related to the father - William Howarth.

Several Howarth/Stott marriages in Rochdale 1830's to 1850's so difficult to say which of the births on the GRO index are William and Ann's children (just in case there are more than you think you've found).
Not seeing a William James with mmn Stott
Name: Mother's Maiden Surname: HOWARTH, ALICE ANN STOTT Order GRO Reference: 1851 M Quarter in ROCHDALE Volume 21 Page 795

Lancashire BMD gives sub reg districts - this is the index for Alice Ann:
Lancashire Birth indexes for the years: 1851
HOWARTH Alice Ann STOTT Spotland Further Rochdale SF/6/309
So assuming other children were reg in the same sub district, there is John in 1847 & James in 1843 could be others in surrounding districts though.

From Lancs OPC
Baptism: 27 Nov 1850 St Chad, Rochdale, Lancashire, England Alice Ann Howarth - [Child] of William Howarth & Ann Abode: Henry St. Occupation: Moulder Baptised by: W. J. Harrington, Offg. Minister Register: Baptisms 1846 - 1851, Page 106, Entry 842 Source: LDS Film 2356445
Different address, but same occupation:
Baptism: 30 Nov 1859 St Chad, Rochdale, Lancashire, England William James Howarth - [Child] of William Howarth & Ann Born: 6 Jul 1857 Abode: Whitworth Road Occupation: Moulder Baptised by: Henry E. Garnet Register: Baptisms 1856 - 1865, Page 77, Entry 613 Source: LDS Family Search
But these are the only 2 baptisms I can see.
Added, strange, but William James is showing mmn of Brierley according to the GRO index and Lancs BMD - also the sub district of registration is Wardleworth.

So it looks like the children Alice and William James are from different families - not sure what to make of it, after looking at Margaret's 1891 census.

May I ask how you're related to William, Mark? The father of the one who married Ann Stott was John Howarth, a weaver. The one who married Ann Brierley had father David Howarth, an engineer.

Sorry, Flip, I should have refreshed the page before posting. I just re-checked that 1891 census, definitely son & daughter, both single.
