Find Ancestors

After a long search I finally came across this post giving the location of Raglan Terrace in Everton, West Derby (now in Liverpool).

Thank you to 'tekram' for posting the original question and a HUGE THANK YOU to Stan for posting the location - it was the only result I could find after weeks of trawling internet searches - that gives the actual location of Raglan Terrace. It doesn't show on most Ordnance Survey maps or the Liverpool A-Z, but does show on the OS 1891 Town Plan of Liverpool.

Raglan Terrace is near St.Augustine's Church (many children who were born at Raglan Terrace at the time were baptised at St Augustine see http://www.lan-opc.org.uk/Liverpool/Everton/staugustine/ ).

Raglan Terrace is between (and runs parallel to Westbourne Street and Gregson Street) and is to the left of Alma Street.

From the 1891 map there appear to be entries into Raglan Terrace from Westbourne Street and Alma Street.

The area bounded by Gregson Street, Shaw Street and College Street, which would have included St.Augustine's Church, Westbourne Street, Alma Street and Raglan Terrace, is now Whitley Gardens.

I hope that helps some of you pinpoint where your Everton Ancestors lived.

My great great grandmother (Henrietta Hogg) was born in Raglan Terrace in 1870 and baptised at St. Augustines.
