You know what's odd?
Every census return and the marriage for daughter Inez states that James Langton was born in Ireland. His Obit says he was born in Milwaulkee to a pioneer family?

Also for clarification, James Langton and Susie Amelia Ross had 3 daughters. named Birdie, Inez and Irene ( twins)
There were two similarly aged girls named Birdie Langton born in Utah but this is the correct marriage as the other girl's birth and marriage clearly shows different parents
Marriage of Birdie
Birdie Langton Gender: Female Age: 27 Birth Date: 1891 Marriage Date: 29 May 1918 Marriage Place: Salt Lake, Utah, United States Spouse: Adrian Debruyn Kops
Marriage of Irene
Irene Ardella Langton Gender: Female Marriage Date: 19 Apr 1920 Marriage Place: Davis, Utah, United States Father: James Langton Mother: Susie A Ross Spouse: Feramorz Tyler Little

G lass ,just spotted what Maddie put about James Langton, it was his father born in Ireland but James was born in Wisconsin and he married a Charlotte Paisley, so this is where the name Paisley came to be in the name of Inez P Langton/Curran. Also that his mother being down as born in Ireland, so this clears the Ireland part up.

I have just contacted my friend in Holland regarding her half brother and his name is Julian Curran b 1944 Berkley CA ( she thinks) father Kenneth Curran and Marian Romney but I see on here that the marriage of Kenneth Curran was to a Marian McFarlane 13th March 1943 in Tulsa Oklahoma, perhaps a 2nd marriage for her and maiden name was Romney. Marian came from Utah.

I would just like to say at this point, how grateful I am for all your help, I could never have done it without you, only on Ancestry Uk but not on their world wide. Do go on Family Search but can't find anything to the depth you have gone in to. Thanks so much

May have found the answer to the McFarlane/Romney conundrum
Marian was/is most likey to be a girl born in Salt Lake circa 1922. She appears in Salt lake at both 1930 and 1940
1930: Cottonwood, Salt Lake
John H Mc Farlane 27 Gertrude E Mc Farlane 26 **Marian Mc Farlane 8 John W Mc Farlane 7 Gwen Mc Farlane 4
1940: Salt Lake
J Herold Mc Farlane 37 Gertrude Mc Farlane 36 **Marian Mc Farlane 18 John Walter Mc Farlane 17 Gwen Mc Farlane 17 Seryl Mc Farlane 9
Mother/Wife on both census is named Gertrude but is this Marian's mother? Don't think it is...... John Harold Mcfarlane of Salt lake, Utah was married twice but, it doesn't look like polygamy. ( haven't spotted any evidence to show that anyone mentioned in this thread was actually LDS) It looks like yet another divorce.
1st wife was Eleanor ROMNEY J. Harold Mcfarlane Gender: Male Marital Status: Single Race: White Age: 21 Birth Date: 22 Jul 1899 Birth Place: Salt Lake City Marriage Date: 4 Sep 1920 Marriage Place: Davis Co., Utah Father: John C. Mcfarlane Mother: Alice Liddle Spouse: ****Eleanor Romney****
According to Findagrave, Eleanor Romney remarried in 1928 and died in 1943
2nd Marriage John Harold Mcfarlane Gender: Male Race: White Age: 22 Birth Date: 22 Jul 1902 Marriage Date: 10 Jun 1924 Marriage Place: Salt Lake, Utah, United States Father: J. C. Mcfarlane Mother: Alice Liddle Spouse: Gertrude Ethelwyn Meadows
See what you make of the info.. https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=58856
I think that Marian McFarlane bc 1922 was the daughter of Eleanor Romney and possibly used the name Marian Romney McFarlane

Noticed the following for William and Charlotte Langton, only their youngest 2 children Charlotte 1852!and Luessa 1854 were born in Wisconsin, the others stated as being born in Ireland including son James in 1850 so William and Charlotte must have immigrated after 1850 when James was born. Unless census written down wrongly .Unable to find them leaving Ireland

You will not believe this...
I cannot locate the emigration data but, ... I DID locate the Langton births in Ireland!
They were from Dingle, Co Kerry
**CLARINA JAMES HENRY LANGTON** Date of Birth 17 September 1849 Address DINGLE Father WILLIAM LANGTON Mother CHARLOTTE EMELIA LANGTON Further details in the record Father Occupation GENTLEMAN
James's DOB doesn't exactly match with his death info and it's possible that this one died and another born .
John, this is how to locate them for yourself:
www.irishgenealogy.ie This site requires that you enter your name (any name) each time you access it It's a free site with no registration process
Select: Church Records Enter: Langton
Sort by date or select Kerry COI (Dingle Parish) but there are only a handful of entries to choose from Scroll down to the correct time period
You will find them and there is also a link to the original church entry. Other children born to William and Charlotte are there too.
I could post them but, It's more fun locating them for yourself. You will see that the parent names and the older girls names match up too
All 3 x baptisms in Dingle (COI) between 1845 and 1849

Found another birth/ baptism by accident that hasn't been indexed.
William Broderick Langton was born in 1851 Therefore the Langton family was still in Dingle at 5 Mar 1851
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/asset/details/48012813
Look at the entry/ writing that runs along the side of this page. It's been added later This child does not appear on any US census and therefore must have died.

I now know a bit more about William Langton before he emigrated to the US.
There are a number of newspaper articles from 1846 to 1853 in which he is mentioned.
It was a complicated, long winded story called: The Dingle Controversy.
1844, a riot broke out in Dingle, after a Catholic Priest was converted to Protestantism.
( Google: The Dingle Colony Society and it will be found in Google Books) The link is too long to paste and I dont know how to use tinycurl but an understanding of what went on will help.
However... William Langton was a very well respected man who worked for The Dingle Colony Society and received a handsome salary. £80-£100 PA As far as I can tell, he was the Manager or Overseer of Farming, Agriculture and other business interests in Dingle At this time it was headed by Pastor, Rev Charles Guyer
Rev Guyer was the person accused of paying/ bribing/offering incentives to poor Catholics in the area to convert.
William's name came up a number of times in relation of being the person who was given the task of visiting those who had already "converted" and making their weekly payments.
Some church officials believed that the Society was corrupt and others believed that they were being conned by the Catholic Community who took the money, food etc ( potato famine) but still secretly practised their own faith. They claimed that not a single Catholic had asked for, or been given any Religious Instruction to convert.
William Langton was only carrying out the work that he was paid to do and does not appear to have played any part in it but, his reputation was clearly tarnished by the whole thing
The story/court case went on for years .By the time this had ended, William and his family had already moved to the US as mentioned in article dated 1853. "You may recall the respected gentleman, Mr Langton, who emigrated to America some 3 yrs since"
1848 Address to William from the Converts ( support) Reply from William http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/keepsafe/folder/contents/1

I had a feeling that William Langton was from Gentry.
What on earth do you make of this? The church records in Dingle contain the birth and baptism of Henrietta Amelia Langton who was born to William & Charlotte She was born on 29 Aug 1845
https://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/display-pdf.jsp?pdfName=k-486-2-1-006
Henrietta does not appear on the US census returns but, would have been about 5 or 6 when the family emigrated and would have been around 15 yrs old at the time of the 1860 US census When she was not on the return, I assumed that she had died. Apparently not!
This does appear to be her 1864 church marriage... IN DUBLIN ! The notation states she was married by the Registrar in Dec 1863
