I don't have much time tonight, but have you found Kathlyn or her parents on the 1939 register? the 1939 register gives exact dates of birth which helps track births (and deaths). |

Shirley, yes my dad does have the marriage certificate for his parents. He is definitely down as John Bertram Walker :) |

AustinQ, I feel like a total plonker!! Totally forgot about my grandmother's brother (not hard to forget mind, I didn't know she had a brother until recently!) Yes, I'm sorry, there was another child! |

I think the John Bertie Green posted by Maryb looks promising. |

Shirley - My grandmother married twice. First marriage was to Francis A. Andrews in 1936 in Bromley and had a child called Christine. We don't know if they divorced or if he died in the war. Granny moved to South Africa without her daughter (Christine was alive up to 20 years ago, we don't know where she is now and I can't find any details about her either!) sometime in the 1940's. Granny then married my grandfather in SA or Rhodesia as it was then, in 1950 and had my dad a year later. |

This looks like the one on 1901 census as stepson to John Edwin Flood. |

Thanks Maddie, they're the ones I came up with as well. It does look like Bertie Walker of Tottenham is the most likely. |
