of course I totally understand why you chose that Sarah Annie, but yes it is just a shot in the dark but so worth looking into the family, as for Macroom road and the Vicarage. maybe she moved away from home for the year whilst pregnant possibly. as a domestic cook at the vicarage. thank you so much for all your help kind regards ~Angela

The London Metropolitian Archives hold admins and discharge records of Queen Charlottes which was situated Marylebone Road,
They carry good details such as age, address.status..when and time of admittiance date of discharge.
maybe possible to see the details of the child such as weight/length/ and delivery notes*******.if this hast got 100year closure.

Angela -
I'm not saying that the Sarah Annie in 1901 & 1911 is definitely your Sarah - just that she is a suitable age to have been listed on the Electoral Roll (not a census) in 1918, she is a domestic cook, and she's living in London.
In 1918 and 1919 Sarah has the letter O against her name, which indicates she is listed as eligible to vote by reason of her occupation (per the notes at the beginning of the ER).
EDIT (CORRECTION): Sorry - not her occupation as in her job, but her occupation of the property.
However - There are several people called Sarah Ann or Annie Baker in the 1911 census, of an appropriate age, in various places. Just because your Sarah was in London in 1918, it doesn't mean she was there in 1911.
It's unfortunate that we don't have any more clues to who she was.
Re Macroom Road - per the 1911 census records, I see that 8 Macroom Road was indeed St Simon's Vicarage. In 1911 the vicar was Walter Patteson Legg, who lived there with his sister Fanny, a boarder and two servants.
EDIT: - No, it wasn't. Silly me went by the mistranscription on Ancestry. I should know better. I DO know better!

Oh fantastic all these replies i cant thank you enough for looking into this, I have the birth certificate for Vera Margaret Baker , but sadly no age for Sarah Annie Baker. Vera's apparent adoptive parents Mr Jamieson & Rosina Kirby Widower of John Kirby (John died 1920) Rosina and John had a daughter Rosina Margarette Byrell Kirby in 1901, I believe Vera went to live with Rosina Margarette and husband Stephen phillips at some point not sure the exact year. Rosina Kirby died and death cert gives her name as Rosina Jamieson previous Kirby , widower of Mr Kirby. a bit confusing. Argyllgran are you saying that as Sarah Annie Baker is on Census 1918/19 living at no.8 Macroom road, then she must have been over 30yrs of age. so she would, strange you always presume and unmarried young girl. so the Sarah Annie in 1901 & 1911 are the same person so worth me looking at her and her family that is fantastic, I don't know how you do it but that is a great help thank you everyone so much appreciated. kind Regards Angela

All a stab in the dark, though, without knowing how old Sarah Annie was when Vera was born.

Continuing from Wikipedia:
About 8.4 million women gained the vote.[1in 1918] In November 1918, the Parliament (Qualification of Women) Act 1918 was passed, allowing women to be elected into Parliament. By 1928 the consensus was that votes for women had been successful. With the Conservative Party in full control in 1928, it passed the Representation of the People (Equal Franchise) Act that extended the voting franchise to all women over the age of 21, granting women the vote on the same terms as men

From Wikipedia:
Political movement towards women's suffrage began during the war and in 1918, the Parliament of the United Kingdom passed an act granting the vote to: women over the age of 30 who were householders, the wives of householders, occupiers of property with an annual rent of £5, and graduates of British universities.
Doesn't sound like a young unmarried domestic servant, I must say.

For helpers' reference;
Sarah Annie Baker in the London, England, Electoral Registers, 1832-1965 Name: Sarah Annie Baker Year: 1919 County or Borough: Westminster Ward or Division/Constituency: Paddington and St Marylebone Street address: 8 St. Simon's Vicarage
Image says 8 Macroom Road, no mention of vicarage. Ancestry ER transcriptions are dreadful, anyway.
I don't suppose the birth cert gives Sarah's age, does it? That would be helpful!
