She won't show on the electoral rolls until she was of voting age so born 1919 she wouldn't show till 1940 The exception would be the 1939 register as this was compiled for ww2 identity cards and ration books
However when that was composed it was assured would be closed for 100 years
When the NHS stated in1948 it was used to issue NHS nos and was updated for deaths that has occurred and woman who had married
It's been updated several times since and records opened for those that have passed away
It's not up to date on open records but a record can be requested to be opened on proof by a death cert
Again Vera is still alive so she is a closed record
For when Vera did marry then those would be at the local area where she lived
I believe though they aren't searchable by name but by address But no electoral rolls were taken in WW2

Earlier electoral rolls are available from the main library for the areas
Pre 2002 aren't online
The exception is Ancestry that does have some London electoral rolls but they are the exception rather than the norm

Find My Past has some ER's for the 1920's / early 30's
Harry and Olive Cooke are shown in 1923 - 1931 to be at 50 Pierrepont Road Lady Bay District, Parish of West Bridgford, Rushcliffe Constituency
England & Wales, Electoral Registers 1920-1932
First name(s) Harry Last name Cooke Year 1923 Season Autumn Polling district or place West Bridgford Constituency P C of Nottinghamshire, Rushcliffe Division Constituency in full Parliamentary County of Nottinghamshire, Rushcliffe Division County Nottinghamshire Country England Register type Parliamentary County Archive The British Library Archive reference SPR.Mic.P.267/BL.N.51 Record set England & Wales, Electoral Registers 1920-1932 Category Census, land & surveys Subcategory Electoral Rolls Collections from Great Britain, England
From originals -
1930/31 shows also Harry Archibald and Clarice Cooke at the same address.
Against each person are 2 codes, the first gives the qualification for Parliamentary elections, the second for local elections. A dash indicates voter couldn't vote in that election. In 1931 Harry is R (Residence Qualification) and O (Occupational qualification) Olive is Rw (residential qualification - women) and Dw (Qualification through husband's occupation.) Both shown as HO pre 1928 Harry Archibald is R and a dash Clarice is Rw and dash
Harry also has a J by his name which indicates he was eligible for Juror service each year
No Clarice 1929 and Harry Archibald only qualifies R dash 1927/28 - only Harry and Olive
ER codes explained - http://www.electoralregisters.org.uk/codes.htm

Does that mean you are in contact with her!?
If she is still alive her record won't be open on the 1939 register

They would only go through Ellis Island as an immigrant not as a visitor
Ellis island closed in Nov 1954
My nan went to Canada in the 1940,s. She went via New York and then travelled onwards . She didn't go through Ellis Island as she was only a visitor
The vessel your aunt travelled on though was going to Halifax and her intended future residence was Canada
