I don't see the marriage certificate on-line for John, but a tree on Ancestry that states they have the certificate has the following information:

1873 Marriage solemnised at the Parish Church in the Parish of St George, Barrow in the County of Lancaster. December 25 1873. John Sims [age] 23, bachelor, Blacksmith, [of] 41 Thwaite Street [Father] George Sim, Wood Merchant [and] Pamela Marsh [age] 19, Spinster, [of] 41 Thwaite Street [Father] William Marsh, Boilermaker [were] Married in the Parish Church according to the Rites and Ceremonies of the Established Church after banns by me Arthur E O'Brien. This marriage was solemnised between us John Sim [and] Pamela Marsh in the presence of us John Richmond his X mark [and] Helen Caroline Marsh her X mark.

Proving quite elusive this guy/ Looking for his birth in 1849 now.Place,DOB,so I can find his parents-without having to go down to Library to look on microfiches for his marriage in 1873.Having a look on 1871 census now,prior to him marrying Pamela,Parmelia,Panicla lol.Looked under Sim,Sime,Simm & Simon-can't find an obvious one?

I can't seem to find that one anywhere? Found a Pamela Marsh marriage in 1877 Dec Q in Dudley,6c 191,but that doesn't appear to be her?
