Thanks PH for the info............well guys, I have ordered the birth certificate for Ronald Gore 1931 in Winchcomb. Let's hope it's good news.
Could be coincidence but on Ancestry.com, I attached this Ronald to my tree then it suddenly gave me a suggested record to look at......Derek Gore living at 6 Quedgely Court with my mum.

We are considerig that Ronald was Derek......Dino said he remembers him as Uncle Derek. June born 1940 was June Elizabeth.
Dino forwarded some photos of Daphne and we can see plenty of likenesses to myself and my sister Carol.

That's great news Kevin- nice to know our thoughts were right about Daphne.

After everything that you know about this family are you not even considering the possibility that Ronald could be Derek?

Note that there was no middle initial on June's birth registration.

Do you know if, when and who June married?

I still think that Ronald changed his name to John Derek!!

Perhaps Daphne can explain who the Ronald was born 1931.

And who the Ronald was who was living with Queenie Brain in 1961/1962...which was a couple of years after Maureen left you and your siblings with Derek and Queenie.

It would be interesting to know where Daphne was at that time too.

Hi guys and girls. Having spoken at length today with Daphne Gore's son, Dino Bishop, I can confirm the following:-
John Derek Gore was brother to Daphne Brenda and June Elizabeth Gore born 1950 and 1940. Dino is sure that his uncle Derek was born 1930 but I can't find the birth register. Apparantly, Daphne doesn't like to speak of her past but will have to now....Dino is going to talk to his mother, carefully, about facts for us. So Queenie had 3 kids with 3 fathers before marrying William Brain in 1958.
When we met my mother in August this year, she was adamant that John Derek was any only child. Mum married John Derek in 1954 which meant June Elizabeth was 14 and and Daphne was 4......is mum telling porky's or were the kids raised by someone else. June Elizabeth was born in Cheltenham so where was my dad born.......help me please........

Kevin- Even though Emily gave birth to Ronald, I believe that Ronald Louis was probably brought up as Emily's sibling. Emily was still up to all sorts of trouble in 1924 & 1925.

Plus- On the article re Emily's death in 1942 (posted on page 2 of this thread), Ronald is mentioned as Emily's brother:

'Principal mourners were the Husband, Mr FC Gore, Mr Rupert Gore and Mr Ronald Gore (brothers), Mrs J Hawkins, Miss Q Gore and Yevonne (sisters)...'

I still think the 1931 certificate for Ronald will hold the key. If not, then we start again! but it's very hard to keep up the search until the information of that certificate is revealed.

Hi guys.....1 birth certificate has arrived. It proves that Ronald Louis Gore born 22nd March 1922 was the illegitimate son of Emily Doris Gore, born 1902. She married Lionel Davis in 1930.
So thats the grandson, noted in newspaper articles, all sorted.
No closer to finding my dad with this certificate though.

Also take into consideration that this family were notorious for swapping/changing their names around!

I think the problem is Kevin dismissed the idea of Daphne B Gore (1950) being Queenie's daughter because his birth Mum had told him that Derek was Queenie's only child.

Kevin, your Mum's memory might not be correct- it was a long time ago. She said she didn't know that Derek was John Derek on her marriage certificate- but she must have signed it.- My point being that memories sometimes get distorted over time, and we only retain bits we want to.

If you take the time to read through the entire thread you will see that Ann Marie was in touch with someone that knew/ had knowledge of Queenie. This person had said that Queenie had a daughter called Daphne.

This looks like Daphne's marriage:

GORE DAPHNE B BISHOP GLOUCESTER R. 7B 1334

This marriage is on a tree on Ancestry which does not give the brides name (still living) but gives her parents as George Polowski and Queenie Gore.

If you have access to Ancestry, perhaps you could contact the tree owner? They indicate that they have the marriage cert.

There are a couple of Gore/Bishop births in Gloucestershire after 1968 (probably still living) and one of them looks like the owner of that tree on Ancestry

It's the Daphne born 1950 i am referring to.

Daphne B J Gore who married Hawkins was Queenie's sister.

It was a PM from Ann--Marie that suggested Daphne born 1950 was the daughter of Queenie and that she may still be living.

I can't spot Daphne on the ER........but her son is on the 2014 ER.

I have found Daphne BJ Gore married to Hawkins but I can't find any children.
I had ordered the birth certificate for Ronald L Gore born 1922 in Winchcomb before the one born in 1931 became a possibility. I should have the certificate by Friday.

If we think that Daphne BJ Gore is sister to Ronald......can anyone find an ER showing them together as I can't.

Daphne is Ronald's sister.

I sent you a PM about her last week. She is possibly still living. I also mentioned that one of her son's is on the 2014 ER.

Did you follow that through?

Having said that, i don't think she has as much info as you do on this thread.

I agree PH- it's difficult to move on and explore other avenues without knowing the information on that certificate!

Kevin, we are all hanging on a thread...........waiting to find out what information the birth cert gives for Ronald Gore MMN Gore.....born 1931, Winchcombe.

It will be interesting to find out if his birth date matches that of your fathers.

We have just found a family member in New Zealand but unfortunately, they don't have too much info on Queenie Gore other than her parents......it's a start though...
