Unfortunately, even assuming that's the same Mary Macdonald, and assuming that she had no middle name (there's been no suggestion of one so far), and that she died in Inverness 1948 - 1985, there are still a lot of possible deaths - and still impossible to narrow down without incurring a lot of expense. |

Stuart, you could try contacting the National Library of Scotland- they hold electoral registers for all regions from 1946. As you have a name and address they might be able to help. |

Just looking at the valuation rolls and Street directories again and noticed that in 1930 there is also a Farquhar Macdonald at number 4 Ness Place. |

there are lots of articles in the paper advertising for nursing staff and similar for Balblair Home, Nairn from about 1929. However, they all state Balblair HOME, not House. |

perhaps balblair house was used more like a hospital at this time circa 1926-7 than a poorhouse does this suggest Jessie was living in Nairn at this time maybe .The person [unconnected] above the death cert for Jessie I downloaded from scotlandspeople was elderly also died at balblair house maybe a hospital more at this time do you think |

I think Eringobragh means that perhaps John was born at another house called Balblair, and not at the workhouse. Possibly his mother was employed there. |
