Emma and Marjorie are also in the same Workhouse on the 1901 census. |

The 1911 census shows 6 children at home. They are living in 3 rooms |

On the 1901 census there is a William, Charles and Frederick Sadler (who become Scutt on the 1911 census?) living in what seems to be an institution of some kind. |

Thank you ladies you have opened a door for me , i will check out the 1901 census to see if any of their children are with them as looks like they may have been homeless when that one taken and that will help pin it down. |

If you buy John and Emma Jane's marriage certificate it should name her father which will help make sure you follow the correct line. |

I think he might have been a foot soldier in the 35th Foot between 1881-1891 or even later i wonder if she got preggers and he came back after baby born and married her they look a poor family as he is a Farm Lab on 1911 but no sign of him on 1901 :-( |

Yes, you would have to buy the birth certificate for one of the children to be sure, but see my post above - there is a child with the surname Sadler so the marriage seems right. |

Actually, looking at the image for the 1911 census there is a son whose name is crossed out but he is called William Sadler so it looks like the above marriage is the correct one. |

This is a possible birth for the child on the 1911 census called Grace (possibly her middle name):- |
