This interesting article suggests Bell Mettle/Nettle/Metal Lane is now Elwyn Road. |

Thank you AG and Chris. I have spoken to daughter and she is going to look in the church graveyard, when she has the time. I am guessing that any deaths where buried there . hope the stones are still around. When I go there next , will try and contact the church as well. Hope to find some concrete evidence there. Did you have any address for the family? A lot of doddington is fairly new, but some old buildings still around. Maybe the cambridge soc, will have old maps of the area, which will also be good to view. I did go to March library some years ago, and they do have old docs, as well |

Good idea. Maybe I can get one of the girls to go there, as they are all drive. I have had a look at the web site, but not sure which ones I would need. It may be just as quick for me to send for them, as they would have to post to me any way. This is getting really exciting. Hard to believe that descendents could return to a small village nearly 200 years later! |
