this raises more questions 2 potential emmigration dates 1904 and 1909? when did she marry James Moabray? ( were those children his?) So she married yet again in 1946
What happened to Henry George? did they divorce or was she a bigamist? :-0

In AustinQ 10:50 it states on the Social Security document that Louisa Elizabeth Mowbray nee Cole's place of birth was ' Leighton Sto, UK', there is a place called Leytonstone which is next to Leyton the place given on the Baptism in AustinQ's 10:20 Post.

Yes - Louisa was travelling with James and children:
Detroit Border Crossings and Passenger and Crew Lists, 1905-1963 Name: Louise Mowbray Gender: Female Age: 31 Nationality: English Birth Date: abt 1878 Birth Place: Leyton Ess, England Arrival Date: 5 Oct 1909 Arrival Place: Detroit, Michigan, USA Departure Contact: Mother Mary Cole Accompanied by: Son Reginald Wm; Son James Charles Arrival Contact: Husband Jas Mowbray Mother: Mary Cole Spouse: Jas Mowbray
I'm just trying to find the birth of Reginald and James. ------------------------------------------
Oh, and re the death certificate for James- death certificates are often slightly out as they rely on the information of others. I am pretty certain it's correct.

Thanks again- gosh this is getting interesting Austin - yes I have the marriage cert for James Issac and Mary Ann- Mary Ann is listed as full age and a widow- father Thomas Brown
so this all fits EXCEPT in the death record it has James's fathers name as James and it isnt it is John Issac- cvould this be a misprint? I will order a new birth cert for Louisa see if this is the one.
It seems then that maybe Louisa did move to the US - that must have been after 1901 but before 1911- have you any emmigration records / sailing records Austin Q ?

So- is it possible that Louisa also travelled to the US?
This seems to confirm that Mary was married previously:
Christening: Name: Louisa Elizabeth Cole Gender: Female Baptism Date: 7 Oct 1877 Baptism Place: Waltham Cross, Hertford, England Father: John Cole (plasterer) Mother: Mary Abode: Leyton, Walthamstow

I think by getting the correct birth certificate for Louisa Elizabeth Cole- it might help you further. Do you have James Isaac Bex marriage certificate to Mary Ann Cole?
I wonder if Mary was listed as a widow?
Below is just a possible theory- but would need either James marriage certificate or Louisa's birth certificate:
Possible first marriage for Mary Ann:
Name: Mary Ann Brown Estimated birth year: abt 1853 Age: 19 Spouse: John Cole (Plasterer/ Full age) Record Type: Marriage Event Date: 29 Sep 1872 Parish: St James the Great, Bethnal Green Borough: Tower Hamlets Father Name: Thomas Brown (Gardener) Spouse Father: William Thomas Cole (deceased) Register Type: Parish Register
Witnesses: Thomas Brown & Emma Edwards ------------------------------------------------------
Her husband John Cole possibly dies in 1877 (Mary may have been pregnant with daughter Louisa- it's also possible that Mary conceived Louisa after her husband's death:
Name: John Cole Estimated birth year: abt 1851 Registration Year: 1877 Registration Quarter: Jan-Feb-Mar Age at Death: 26 Registration district: West Ham Inferred County: Essex Volume: 4a Page: 55 ----------------------------------------------------------
Mary then marries James Isaac Bex and they travel to the US c1910. ----------------------------------------------
Possible death for Mary:
Michigan, Death Records, 1867-1950
Name: Mary Bex Gender: Female Marital Status: Married Birth Date: Nov 3 1855 Birth Place: England Death Date: 27 Nov 1916 Death Place: Detroit, Wayne, Michigan, USA Death Age: 61 Father: Thomas Brown <<<<<<<<(Matches father on first marriage) Husband: James Bex ---------------------------------------------------
So- possible Christening for Mary:
Name: Mary Ann [Mary Ann Brown] Gender: Female Baptism Date: 2 Mar 1856 Baptism Place: St. Peters, Walthamstow, Essex, England Father: Thomas Brown Mother: Emma FHL Film Number: 1564166 Reference ID: 2:X7W3RL

Chris- I'm not sure that's the correct death for Mary Ann Bex (That death could be for the Mary Ann that was the wife of Edward Bex).
It looks like she and James went to the US/ Canada in 1910.

James remarried in Essex, Ontario Canada in 1919 to (Lucy) Hannah Carter. He was listed as a widower.
Name: James Isaac Bex Age: 61 Birth Year: abt 1858 Birth Place: London, England Marriage Date: 24 Sep 1919 Marriage Place: Essex, Ontario, Canada Widower. Occ: Plasterer Father: John Bex Mother: Elizabeth Green Spouse: Lucy Hannah Carter -------------------------------------------------

Excellent- I never had those records AustinQ- I think I will need a trip to the National Archives to get them. Its interesting because Henry was registered at 48 Exeter Road as resident from 1917-1924 - this would fit with Sarah's death in 1916- I wonder if Elizabeth was his next partner?
Chris thanks- I think the W Ham Louisa Cole is more likely to be her so maybe I had the wrong birth certificate?Yes the Bex and Cole marriage I had- I think John Issac Bex was James Bex's father
this is really exciting- thanks :-D
