AQ These are the two censuses that I was working with, of course they may not be correct.
Added: Charlotte' marriage certificate should confirm who her father was. Maureen, do you have the marriage certificate?

I'm having trouble working this back Gins- can you put the other census up that links Charlotte with father John (EDIT: I'm seeing a couple of possibilities).
This is Charlotte 1911:

Hi Maureen
If Stuart was your moms brother then he would have been your uncle and not your Grandfather.
Charlotte's husband would have been your (maternal) Grandfather: George Comley Little and he died in 1921 so your mom would have been a child. I guess it's just a simple mistake when you wrote the above, easily done with all this information flying at you!
Stuart died in 1993 so your mom would have been approx. 78yrs:
STUART COMLEY LITTLE
DOB 22 Jan 1909
Death quarter 4
Death year 1993
District SOUTH GLAMORGAN
District number8901A Register numberA17A Entry number145
Date of registration mm/yy 1293
County Glamorganshire --------------------------------------------------------- (His wife, Dulcie Eileen Little died in 1995)
I forgot to say in my previous post. Searching census records, it looks like Charlottes father was 'John Davies' hence my hypothesise regarding the possible connection being Jonathan and John (brothers)

Thank you, Gins, that's certainly a lot for me to look into, your help is most appreciated, Yes the 1939 entry, 5 St Gowan Avenue is my mum & grandma, Stuart was my mum's brother & Dulcie his wife. Stuart Comley Little was my granddad, although I never knew him as he died when my mum was a child.

Thank you for your help everyone certainly plenty for me to look into. I will keep you updated if your info helps me trace the connection.
Austin Q yes I have seen this publication which has proved most interesting, I also have a newspaper cutting about him from 1967, which my mum had, unfortunately I don't know what newspaper it is from but I think it is a farming or agricultural one. My mum was born Ethel Mary Little in Treorchy, March 1915, her mum was Charlotte Davies, born 1882 in Pentre.. My mum often spoke of his horses & the foxes, she even had a full fox pelt which he gave her!

Photo of him here and a little about his life and family in this book:
http://www.llanfrynach-community.org.uk/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/WWBII-PDF.pdf
It mentions his brother David and nephew, Jonathan. It also mentions his sister Bessie and her husband Tom Phillips (Tom was the brother of Price Phillips).
This is his sister 1939 register:
Phillip Household (2 People) Bailea , Brecknock R.D., Breconshire, Wales
Elizabeth Phillip 06 Sep 1887 Female Unpaid Domestic Duties Married Thomas Phillip 25 Jan 1888 Male Farmer Married --------------------------------------------------------
If you are able to share details of your Mum perhaps we can work back to see if there's a connection.

Many 'male' family friends were known as 'uncle' in the period that you refer to but were not always a 'blood' uncle. Looks like he died 17th Dec 1969. Below is a link to his probate record, you can send for his Will, if he left one

I am trying to trace Richard (Dick) Davies born 1889, died 1969, also known as Dick Tyle Llwyd,, born Libanus , Breconshire, mother Eliza (Elizabeth) born 1847 died 1922.. Father died 1892 (first name unknown), My mother referred to him as Uncle Dick, but I cannot identify him as my grandmother's (Charlotte Davies) brother. I cannot find him in any of the census records so would appreciate any assistance. My mother was very fond of him so would love to find out the actual connection. He lived on a farm in Breconshire called Tyle Llwyd & had a sister called Bessie, born 1887, who married Tom Price & lived at Bailea Farm, Breconshire. I believe there should be 4 more siblings, but have no details.
