just got Ronald Fletcher 1944 birth certificate no father on certificate mother Beatrice Fletcher so it looks like he did have his mothers surname.and not Siddall.
got wedding certificate for
Beatrice Fletcher and Alfred Herbert Siddall 1946 so looks like Alfred was the father but took mothers name due to been born out of wed lock.
found that Beatrice Fletchers parents were Hugh Fletcher labourer on the highways.and i think married to Lily Pullan can any one help think Lily was born 1893 but can not find birth for Hugh might have lived at sunny bank farm Oxenhope

i only no of a david .m. siddall born 1947 he was the brother

I would have thought so Janette.

His birth cert will show his mother's name and 'possibly' that of his father (unlikely though - would more likely just have remained blank).

Do you know anything more about the family - any brothers or sisters etc. to confirm that we have the correct one?

Hi Dea thank you do you think that Ronald was given his mothers maiden name fletcher as they was not married then when they married he took the fathers last name siddall and thats why family think thats why is name was changed and not adopted thanks

hi every one Ronald Siddall father was Alfred Herbert Siddall stone mason and
Ronald Siddall married Patricia Ramsey her father was John James Ramsey he was a miner.they are all dead.this is from wedding certificate.witness was D.M.Siddall and E.M. Ramsey married 1966. but family still think that Ronald changed his name to Siddall

Married 1966 they are most likely still alive which is why I pm,d the GRO ref
