thank you for your replies-- Malyon--yes that`s George`s first marriage, to Christine Isobel Teasdale (his second cousin, I think) she died in the flu epidemic 1918. and yes, he was ships surgeon 1925-1927.
AustinQ--Elizabeth is on the British medical Register as Elizabeth Teasdale (formerly Waller) she qualified 1927/8. She first got a "licentiate" then M.R.C.V.S.. No I don`t have a copy of her will only the probate. I hadn`t found the "careless driving" report--can`t be many Dr. Elizabeth H Teasdales can there so I asume that`s her--they were living in Hants at the time.
Thanks AnnCardiff--George has been fairly easy to trace and I have these records.
Argyl Gran--the marriage could possibly have been pre-1927 but as Elizabeth didn`t qualify until then I think it unlikely as women med. students weren`t meant to marry. I did rather assume there was a marriage as they were both doctors and widely travelled so they would have had to produce "marriage lines" for various documents.

Fiona - I know Elizabeth had the surname Teasdale on the travel records from 1931 onwards, but what is the reason you think the marriage (if any) was not before 1927? Is that when George's first wife died?

I am trying to find the marriage between Dr. George Arthur James Teasdale b. 1889 in Middlesborough and Dr. (although at the time of their marriage she may not have been qualified) Elizabeth Helen Waller. b .c1884 It was definitely a second marriage for him, his first wife having died. The only information I have on Elizabeth is her death record--Rhodesia 1957 which states that she had at some time had a child - Arthur had no children so she was probably married before.- and her entries on the B.M.A. register. I have copious amounts of information on George from birth to death. I know where they both were after 1931. I think the marriage took place between 1927 and 1931 both would seem to have been practising in this country at the time. I would be very grateful if anyone can find this "missing piece" as I have exhausted all the record sources I have access to. Thanks.
