Hi David, my great uncle Reuben was still alive in the 1960's, as we used to go to visit him in Aston, Birmingham. He used to do the bedding flowers for Birmingham council, and had a nursery on his land. The family story goes that he emigrated to Australia sometime in the 60's, decided he'd had enough, and off they went. Great aunt Fanny was alive in the 60's too |

Hi, John Whittington was also my great grandfather, look for Reuben under the name of Hough, as Eliza left him for another guy, had all the children christened in his name, my maternal grandad didn't find out his real surname until the night before he got married. Eliza ended up marrying a Charles Edward Rawlings, and she died of cirrhosis of the liver in 1913. If you look at census under the name of Hough, there's a wealth of information . Hope this helps |
