I have been researching my great grandmother.

I believe she was born 1873 as she died in 1921 and on the death certificate I got she was 48 years old. I have been unable to get a birth record for her?
She appears in the 1911 census in Leicester with her husband Albert start Taylor and children
She died in Leicester also.
1911 census states she was married 10 years and her birth place was Nottingham Mansfield.
On her sons birth certificate of which I have it states that her previous name was chapman.

I have been unable to find a Edna chapman as a birth and a Edna chapman married to a Albert start Taylor?

Could anyone help me please?

An article in the paper describing Albert Start Taylor's bankruptcy in the Cheltenham Court states

Cheltenham Chronicle - Saturday 23 August 1902

"In the first case, that of Albert Start Taylor of 20 Portland Street, draper........Debtor said he was 29 years old and travelling draper. He had commenced business two years ago....he ceased to be a tenant of 20 Portland Street in March, in consequence of a difference between himself and his wife in business matters. She became tenant and commenced business as a dress maker. He was married on August 27th 1900 and his wife then had no separate property, neither had she acquired any since"

still cant find the birth or the marriage... very starnge that hilda in the reference above for 1939 register is hilda chapman (taylor) when I found her to be hilda flinders

Ann she was married 10 years by 1911....

If the marriage Margee posted is correct -and it's the only marriage that comes up for Albert Taylor to Edna - then edna parr was born 1880 in Halifax.

Ann........Edna is married and age 35 on the 1911 census.

So, she certainly wasn't born in 1906.

All that means is that Hilda Taylor married again some time after 1939 ......... Chapman is her "new" married name

Depending on when Albert died .............

this looks a possible for Hilda's remarriage
