Many from that time and later did more than one job so they had something to fall back on when things were bad,,a fisherman could be grounded for days at a time due to bad weather /poor fish catch,, so no work,no pay and mouths to feed. |

David ..The answer is yes especially in the late 1700 and the 1800s especially those involved in the weaving/linen trade ..you just have to check out the surnames of those in the Counties of Down..Antrim . |
