Think I have found them. Is her mother Emily Fanny Claridge (nee Bolton)? |

This is where the confusion with the name change comes from I think. It looks as if your father was born before his parents marriage, so his surname was always Bolton and his middle name Keen (illegitimate children were often given their father's surname as a middle name). His parents married very soon after his birth by the looks of things as the marriage is in the same quarter as the birth:- |

Amy...It probably would only ring a bell if they were related....What you need to be looking for is a marriage between an Albert Keen/Bolton possibly when he was in his early 20s..not necessarily in the area he lived ...Does your parents Marriage Cert state he was a Widow..? |

Been going through records & think that my father's first wife could be Emily Dumbleton. Don't know if this rings any bells with anyone. |

My father's name was Albert Bolton when he married my mother in July 1938, which was his mother's maiden name. |

On Ancestry the surname "Keen" has been transcribed as "Treen" on the 1911 census |

What surname did your father change to? Was it Bolton as in the marriage that Eringobragh1916 has posted above for your grandparents? When did he marry your mother and what name did he use? |

Amy...Don't know if this is a possibility for Alberts previous marriage. |

Thank you so much for all this information. Do you know if any of these people had children? I met William & his wife Lillian many years ago. I know they have a Granddaughter Valerie but do not know any of their children. |
