Still no birth certificate today - hoping it will arrive tomorrow. fingers crossed for me!

Went to a spiritualist a few months back and I recorded the message - had a listen to it last night before bed and they were talking about me doing my family tree and they said that the name JAMES would be helpful when I'm researching!

It seems to be takig an exceptionally long time - hope it does arrive eventually!

So maybe Rachel JAMES nee Waters, responsible for overseeing the orphaned John Waters, will turn out to be your 4 x great aunt, and John Waters to be your great great grandfather ;-)

It is taking long. I didn't think it would take this long. I'll have to chase it up if it doesn't arrive tomorrow. When I listened back, it got me all excited about th James connection! Hopefully the track we have been on is right x

I still havent received it yet. I checked my confirmation email and it says that my estimated date is 28th September!! X

The way things are going I might receive my certificate here in Canada before you get yours, Natalie. If you remember I ordered a certificate the same time you did.

I sent for a certificate in the evening of September 10th and I had mine last Wednesday 16th!

I have been doing a little research on Selwyn Waters and appears that I have found a record for a Selwyn Waters that says that he had married in 1967 - which would be a year before my Selwyn Waters passed. Do you think this could be releated?

The SelwynWaters married in 1967 - married in England? Only asking as its not an unusual name.

The '67 marriage was in Leeds, there's another one in 2000 in Leeds, there is a birth in 1946 in Leeds that could account for the groom in both these marriages .

Trying to be circumspect as the person in question is probably still alive.

Can tell I'm hopeless at this. I would be going to the wrong paths if I didn't have you lot! I'm currently just browsing in to the possible siblings of Selwyn - just incase they are the correct family members.

You're not hopeless! and most of us end up going down a wrong path at some time or other, possibly more than once.

It's why sometimes we really need to get bmd certs - if only the GRO would send them out to us speedily... :-(

I think we've all had the experience of waiting for the postie day after day and the disappointment of not receiving the document. It is such a letdown and you feel so deflated. I hope you have not much longer to wait. <3 <3
