Hi all, new member here. After discovering my grandfather's old leather passport i'm interested in sharing some information with any relatives related to George Frizzell of Greenock born 1920 and also any info related to my paternal grandfather Harry Leonard Simms born Hull 1914. :-) |

That's awesome thanks. I have a dim distant recollection of the name ELIASEN associated with my great grandmother although i never met her. I shall order Harry's birth certificate based on this info as it appears correct. Thanks again for your help. Ideally I am looking for records for 3 generations both paternal and maternal and ideally including birth, marriage and death certificates. |

Here's his death so looks like the birth record is viable. |

Fantastic! Thanks for your help alviegal and greyghost, i've now ordered both my grandads birth and death certificate thanks. Now how do i locate his marriage certificate to my grandmother Margaret Elizabeth Louisa Stella Simms (formerly Hawkins). I seem to recall her friends called her Stella. |

Hello malyon, well that is truly fascinating. Records for my great grandparents???? How deep does this pool go :-) If the certificates pan out for my grandad I think my great grandparents will be the next step. I did say in my initial post, 3 generations seemed like a realistic goal. I note Scottish certificate records appear to offer more stepping stone opportunities. |

Whow I must save this page as it will be very helpful when I order the certificates from the GRO. Thank you for your kind input malyon. I have a plan to have an artist create a lovely genealogy tree for me when it's done. |

Looks like she couldn't decide what to call herself - Margaret L E S or Stella, but note there are 2 surnames, so possibly married previously? And his name is here as SIMS |

greyghost thanks for your research, yes you are quite right my grandmother had quite a long name indeed. Margaret Elizabeth Louisa Stella Simms (formerly Hawkins)...having just checked my father's birth certificate you are spot on! It does state 'Dye' formerly Hawkins of 36 Freehold street Hull but that was in 1947. |
