Yes my william b 9/4/1792 Sidbury Dock Devon died in a lunatic asylum clowance stoke damerel in 1842

Argyl/ Gran As I said before another relative from australia found the earlier details on ancestry so I have no proof

Is Patrick & Eliz Martine in my tree did he marry twice

I am confused with William b 1793 died 1842

and William b 1793 6/4/1841

These are the only vaguely possible deaths showing on ScotlandsPeople, assuming he died in Edinburgh.

If you buy credits you can view the image of the original OPR -- not likely to give any info to prove if it's the same person or not.

There's no birth in Scotland in 1610 for an Alexander McDowell (or other spelling of surname) .

Perhaps you mean 1670?
This one has the same parents as the William and Patrick births posted on 26th July by Malyon:
