Sorry, Jacqueline, my mother was born in Toronto Canada to Florence Wright and James Hassall, I have the certificate. Not sure when John Wright died unfortunately. That might help me understand what happened. |

Jacqueline I am beginning to think that, but I wanted to exhaust all avenues. Florence's first marriage was to Wright but we think there was no divorce. Hassall (Florence's second partner) was my mother's surname, no marriage there. Both Florence's and Percival, no children. I read that during the war years name change was documented, and as we can't find anything I am now assuming Florence changed her name prior to going to NZ, her passport is in the name Aldridge. Just as a footnote, Florence was a busy lady! After Percival died in NZ, she married in NZ, and I do have the certificate for that! Thank you for your persistence and time. |

I'm afraid I don't see anything on ancestry for Percival after the 1911 census, except for his death and burial records in New Zealand in 1950. |

Thank you. Yes I have just been looking and realised that was the case re the electoral rolls. Her husband was Percival L Aldridge. Between about 1940 and 1948 they were in Aylesbury and Long Crendon. Is there somewhere I can look up the historic phone directories, or do I need a subscription? |
