Ops sorry both just re read the messages received and find that Sarah is a widower on 1881 census so she did wed into the Allcock name. So what was her maiden name I ask. Could it be possible to recheck the name Dean out so see if that relates to her. Or did she automatically take the name Allcock. This woman is a mystery and where did William Allcock (shopkeeper) originate from and where was he born? I know I am asking all these question to which I can try and find myself but just asking the questions in general.

well Mavis and Gritty have to thank you. Gritty well that has surprised me (perhaps I didn't look closely enough) on Williams father a shopkeeper. I knew of the marriage to Jane. Mavis, so this has definitely clarified that Joseph and William were brothers to which I had gathered info on that side and I believe there were more siblings. NOW - can I ask your goodselves if you could do a search on trying to find any info on William the shopkeeper i.e.1841 1851 census to see if that brings anything up. Thought sarah was a single mom in having all these children I didn't think she wed into the Allcock name - what are your thoughts on this. I do greatly appreciated your recent searches and any further info you can find. Just a note for your Gritty, some months back you helped me find a relation to which the family hadn't heard/seen for over 40 years well the good news is he is travelling to UK in September and there is a tremendous family gathering - so once again thanks for that.

think about the fact that Sarah hasn't named a child Charles - which she may well have done if father was a Charles -- having a Joseph high in the names of children could be a good clue.
It would be good if you find a Marriage for her then you should know about her father.

thanks to you all but had most of the information. Last week was able to have a day freebie on ancestry and found something but not sure if relates to my own search. Couldn't understand why no wife with Charles on 1841 census but then appeared on 1851 census. For some reason came across some criminal info and the dates corresponded in as that there probably was an elder Sarah (wife of Charles) who held a couple of criminal offences!!!! Just would like info on Sarah 1839/40 to whom she wed or when she died and where. thanking you
