	You don't need to subscribe to any site to get the 1871 and 1881 censuses. they are both FREE................ https://familysearch.org/ I would advise against upgrading on GR...............

	Yes I do Am way back to parish records for my own family research but I enjoy look ups so I still subscribe Do still go off on twigs for my own tree. Looking at who children married and the spouses family . You can go on an on as the family widens with spouses joining the families Depends how you want to do your own tree how wide you want to spread Still get new parish records too for parish records of baptisms that I hadnt found before on Ancestry

	I use Ancestry and Find My Past Prefer FMP for the census layout but Ancestry has its good points too with parish records for marriages wills etc Also use the free sites like FreeBMD and Family Search Have never used genes for records, only have basic memebership

	Frances has asked on General whether it is better to upgrade to Premium on here, I have suggested looking at the options ( FMP and Anc) before doing so but perhaps members who have posted on here would like to comment? I don't use GR records myself....

	This is their marriage Marriages Mar 1864 Hopkins James Jacob Staines 3a 11 Pettit Mary Jane. Staines 3a. 11 Have a look on the later census to see if they have children listed
