Hi Nicola,
Sidney is my great uncle and the brother of my grandfather John Thomas Dowson (Tommy). I never met him but, my grandfather did talk about him to my father and aunt. I can tell you that he was a Bus Conductor in Willesden and I actually have a photo of him in his conductor uniform amongst others. The family got quite split up and I know Sid's brother Earnest emigrated to Australia. My grandfather was also in the Royal Horse and Royal Field Artillery as was their brother James I believe. Some time ago I made contact with James son Joseph in Liverpool, someone my father had not seen since the last war! I have some sketchy details of other members of the family and have researched the family back to 1760. I hope this info helps your research and would like to know what relation Sidney was to you. How did you work back to him Nicola? Did he marry?

I am looking for information on bombardier Sidney Dowson. I believe he was born in Yorkshire but ended up in London during the first world war. I would like to know who his parents were and what happened to him after he left the army.
