Frank North Wallace got his middle name from his mother's maiden name North - Emma North married Henry Townsend Carter 1866 they had 3 children, Mary Townsend Carter - Henry Arthur Carter - Ernest G Carter. Emma's husband died 1871 and she remarried Thomas Wallace 12/6/1874 St Luke's they went on to have 4 children Effie,Frank,Lillian, Claude. In one of the census, I think it was 1880 it list her children from her first marriage but Thomas Wallace has entered them with his surname and not Carter.
