If your grandfather died in Scotland, his death registration will give the names of his parents including his mother's maiden surname if the informant knew the details. Also if he married in Scotland, his marriage registration will name his parents. |

My grandfather Benjamin Gordon miles, settled up in Glasgow after ww2 and he never spoke about the family he left. All I could find out was that he spoke of his brother Edward Ralph miles and they lived in dagenham before he left for ww2. |
