since the children in the censuses, and the child born and died in 1910, were born in Ohio (although oddly the couple was in NYC in 1910), I wonder whether this is wife Marie Cramer in 1900

... I wonder whether Ohio is where they would have married ... or whether they married in NYC and promptly resettled in Ohio ...

might he have been the JT Woodward who travelled from Liverpool to NY in 1908? ... I don't pay to see record details at findmypast

Re: the JT Woodward passenger list referred to by JoonieCloonie - that man was listed as an Alien passenger on the departure list and was travelling with a Mrs Woodward.

The ship was the Celtic departing Liverpool 16/07/1908 and arriving New York 25/07/1908. The arrivals list confirms him as US citizen John Taylor Woodward aged 47 and wife Alma Woodward aged 30.

So we can count him out!

Not sure that death is correct, going on his baptism?

Edit: Looking at the death certificate, it does look him going by his fathers name!

This might be the same woman on the 1900 census that Joonie posted. There are a lot of immigration/passport application records for her

JoonieCloonie the 1908 pasenger list was one I had considered but thanks to MarieCeleste I can disregard that.

Gins like you said it is John T Woodards fathers unusual name that makes it look like the correct death, also John had a brother Percy Archibald Woodward 1892-1916

so there's still no way to know whether they married there or in NYC, since they were in NYC in 1910 ... although the child who died in Sept 1910 was born in April 1910 apparently in Cleveland ('City' usually refers to the city where something is being recorded) ... but that was not necessarily accurate ...

it does seem slightly more likely that they would have gone to NYC as a couple rather than meeting there, maybe

he enrolled in Saskatchewan in 1915 and reported that he was a farmer


no marriage for John Thomas but you have brought his brothers back to the family now if these weren't known ...
