Lyall - General Hospital on May 11 aged 74 years, Basilia, dearly beloved wife late Thomas Lyall, late of 138, High Street West. Interment Bishopwearmouth Cemetery on Sat., cortege leaving residence of her daughter and son in law, Mrs and Mr T Robinson, 31, Front Road, at 10.20 am., for service in Church of Good Shepherd 10.50 am. Deeply mourned.

04 September 1916 - Aberdeen Evening Express - Aberdeen

James Petrie (69), retired scavenger, residing at 25, Frederick Street, Aberdeen, was discovered about 10.30 this morning suspended by a cord round his neck at the back of his bedroom door. He was cut down, and Dr. Moncur who was called in, attempted to revive him, by artificial respiration, but without success, as life was extinct. Petrie had been in ill health for some time.
