In case it helps rule out Simeon posted by Gwyn, according to his service record he suffered from epiletic fits - maybe another question for your friend, if just to rule him out. He was discharged in April 1916 after suffering 3 fits in barracks. |

its all they could give me tonight Rose ..... I guess its a bit late to ring up now, but I am just getting the ball rolling .....but they said they couldnt find him on free BMD either so I am not too hopeful of finding him to be honest :-( :-( |

If Solomon were truly an uncle you should be able to trace him via your friend's mother or father. |

not as in the rhyme, but a real person! Sorry but info is very sparse. It comes from a 94 year old so unsure of its accuracy. "Uncle Sol" was born and lived his life in Blackburn Lancs. Born c1890, but died by suicide in the 1930's. Wife was called Mariah. That's all I know. I cannot find him anywhere, so am suspicious Solomon may have mean either a nickname or a middle name. I don't have other family names I'm afraid .... :-S |
